Amsterdam - The so-called hemp aroma card will almost certainly become available to everyone in the Netherlands. Now, that card bearing the scent of hemp in order to detect farming is only distributed in The Hague and Rotterdam.
A spokesman for Network Management Netherlands, the trade association of operators, said that on Friday. "The decision must still be formally adopted, but the desire is there to use the hemp fragrance card on a larger scale,"the spokesman said. The card is normally distributed everywhere, but especially in areas where hemp is rampant.
Last November, 30,000 households in The Hague and Rotterdam received a hemp scent card. People were asked to help detecting hemp farming in their city. "Many nurseries can be demolished after a tip from a neighbor," the spokesman said. The hemp aroma card was then initiated by the National Task Force approach organized cannabis cultivation.
Handing out nationallyNow, it is the Platform Energy Theft (PED) that, based on the experiences in Rotterdam and The Hague, will issue the card nationwide. "The different network operators in the Netherlands can do itthemselves, but it would be better if we could pick this up jointly," the spokesman for Network Management Netherlands says.
Besides a hash aroma which comes up by scratching, the card also contains other information to discover a nursery. The hum of fans, houses where the curtains are always closed and properties that are uninhabitable, but where people occasionally wander around, are also characteristics.
