KENORA, Canada - In two different cases this week, Kenora Police have arrested and charged people with possession of a drug.
On Tuesday, Feb. 1, while making a routine traffic stop on the Highway , officers from the Kenora Police detachment located in excess of 110 grams (3.88 ounces) of cannabis in a car.
The driver of the car, twentyseven year-old Adam Osmond from BC, was arrested and charged with possession of a drug.
On Thursday, Feb. 3, officers from the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Unit were assisted by members of Kenora detachment including the Street Crime Unit with the execution of a warrant on a Main Street South address in Kenora.
Officers impounded a quantity of narcotics including twentyone grams of hasjiesj, in excess of 100 grams of cannabis, two grams of morphine and a small amount of methadon. Officers also seized in excess of 700 US dollars in cash as well as other drug related atribute.
Dany Charland, 34, of Quebec has been charged with possessions of drugs, twenty eight year old Vernon Jack and twenty four year old female Ashley Noname, both of Kenora, have been charged with possession of a drug, trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime.
All charged persons will attend Kenora court March 14 to answer to the charge.
